The Internet is revolutionizing the way that software works. It used to be that you had to purchase software at a store, take it to your home or church computer and install it. After that time period, the Internet made it possible to simply download the software and you never even had to have the software (download times were slow at first, but with time you were downloading huge packages within minutes.
Nowadays they have online church software that makes it so you don't have to download anything. This online software makes it so all of your information is stored on a secure server and you can interact with your information through a web browser.
This makes playing church games or managing church funds easy to do from anywhere. It is as easy as checking your email. This new type of online software for churches is excellent.

Christian Software
I try to keep this site as religion neutral as possible so please don't be offended by the article title if you are not of the Christian belief. It just so happens that in my quest to bring the best church software to the table, I've mostly found software that is related to the Bible from a Christian point of view.
Here are my recommendations if you are looking for some good Christian Software.
Games, teaching tools, and Fun (sundaysoftware.com)
No one has a better selection for teaching children. I've written about Neil (the owner of Sunday Software) a few times; the man simply understands the need for children to have fun while learning.
Bible Study Software (christianbook.com)
These guys have a professional website with a lot of good resources.
Hope you like my church software recommendations, more will be coming soon.

Church Windows Review
It seems like the church software market is growing fairly fast. As I've researched the different software available, I've been surprised by the sheer quantity of players in the game. One of the all stars of this game is Church Windows.
Church Windows was designed and created by Computer Helpers (a company that has been around for quite a while). This is a good sign as it shows that the software has some staying power. You'd be surprised at the amount of new software that fails.
This software model is interesting. You can buy the whole software package or you can buy the individual components that you may need for your church. Their individual components consist of membership, scheduler, contribution, accounting, and payroll.
If I had one knock against Church Windows, it would be their pricing. I despise pricing models that offer the basic software for a lower price, but then makes you purchase additional software for more and more money. The standard package from Church Windows costs you around $1000 (fairly expensive). Plan on spending an additional $300 for networking, scheduling, and support. They do have some software for smaller churches at a little lower price.
This software is intuitive and works for both big and small churches Overall, you can't go wrong with Church Windows as long as your church has the money to purchase it.

Different Types of Church Software
Since the computer has revolutionized the world, many different types of tools have been created. These tools have been used to further the plight of businesses and churches a like. Almost everyone knows the types of software out there for businesses, but what about churches? Below are some of the different types of software available for churches along with a brief description.
Church Management Software
This type of software is used by church leaders to watch over their flock. This software tracks membership, church attendance, event attendance, etc. Most of the time, this software will do anything that your church needs. The makers of this type of software have been around for a while and the software probably has more features than you want.
Church Accounting Software
In some situations church management software will come with accounting software. Accounting software is important for churches because their accounting is very different than a normal company's accounting.
Teaching Software
This is a broad category of software that includes any sort of software used to teach. The prime example of this type of software is the games used to teach children about church.
Those are all the types of church software that I can think about currently. Feel free to add to the list in the comment box.

Welcome to my Church Software Blog
This blog will be focused on providing information on the different types of church software out there. Although churches have been relatively slow to adapt and use technology, they are finally coming out of the wood-works to see the benefits.
My personal specialty is church accounting software, but I also enjoy writing about other types of software used in church. Something that is really exciting is the amount of games they are coming out with to teach children in Sunday School. These are pretty fun games, and the children are learning.
This blog will eventually mold into something better than it is currently. I plan on doing reviews of the top types of software used by churches. If you have any product you would like me to review, then please post in the comment box below.
